Liz Karpiel

Liz knows the difference running can make starting at a young age.   Her competitive  running started in middle school and she's been enjoying the sport ever since.    Her love for the sport can been seen it in her high energy coaching style.   Our athletes love the energy coach Liz bring to every practice.


Missie Mansfield

Missie took up competitive running in college.   She has since then has added swimming and biking to her exercise routine.   She is now an avid exercise enthusiast, making fitness a part of her lifestyle.   She has a depth of racing experience competing in everything ranging from the 5K all the way up to the Full Ironman.   Missie started coaching young girls in GOTR and from there branched into coaching middle school track.  She has a heart for working with elementary and middle school athletes.   She enjoys working with these athletes to help set a lifetime foundation for the love of running and overall health.  She loves to see the athletes grow in skill, confidence and overall fitness.

Katie Chanthaboury

Katie has been distance running for over 40 years. This love began as she trained for Atlanta’s Peachtree Road Race when she was 7 years old. From there, she ran for Red Smith’s Northside Road Runners , a nationally ranked team and competed in USATF Junior Olympics.  Katie continues to train and compete for half marathons throughout
the year.

Katie views coaching as a gift; an opportunity to guide runners in hard that leads to improved life skills and achieving their goals. She can often be heard saying “do the work and appreciate the results”! Her runners appreciate her dedication, training knowledge and personal experience.

Kimber Arrington

Kimber Arrington comes to us as a life-long runner and swimmer who enjoys inspiring youth to excel in  endurance sports.  Kimber has coached both cross country and track at South Charlotte Middle School,  growing the programs in both success and popularity.

Kimber has a huge heart for working with middle schoolers.   Her love for this age group has been seen in over 20 years of volunteering her time with youth at this level.  Kimber wants to help all kids find a passion for running.

Kimber and her husband live in Charlotte with their 2 daughters who enjoy traveling, hiking, and going on family runs.


Emily Erwin

Emily Erwin has been an avid runner for over 26 years and has a great passion and love for the sport. One of her greatest passions is supporting local races that raise money for cancer research. She was a coach for the Isabella Santos Dream Team for two years. Emily has run many half and full marathons, while her greatest running accomplishment was running the Boston Marathon.

Emily has two children and worked as a preschool teacher for 6 years. She has always loved working with children and believes running is the best sport to help build self esteem. We are privileged to have Emily on the Fit180 team!

Carol Ann Hood

Carol Ann took up running in her late 20’s and never stopped.  After 13 marathons, including Boston, 1 Ironman and 8 Half-Ironmans, she’s still on the top of her game.

Carol Ann is the mother of 2 girls, and when she’s not running, she’s spending time outdoors with the family.  Her passion for helping kids reach their full potential is evident in her coaching style, and smile.

Karen Wood

A mother of two girls, competitive runner and triathlete, Karen has been competing for over 10 years and has completed five Ironman triathlons. Her love and passion for running and racing is further evident in the long list of triathlons and marathons including the Boston Marathon.

Her Christian faith being a guiding principal, Karen loves to take the gift she has been given and transfer the skills and passion of competitive running to young athletes. She has worked at the middle and high school levels in multiple sports; focusing on building speed, agility, and strength. She absolutely loves working with kids and watching them grow in skills, confidence and character.

Lisa Sluiter

Lisa has enjoyed competitive running for over 20 years, competing in everything from 5k’s to Marathons; triathlons to adventure races.  She has a passion for life and a wide range of experience that uniquely qualifies her as a professional running coach and personal trainer.  She is certified as a personal trainer, running coach, nutrition consultant, and FMS (Functional Movement System) specialist.

Lisa has spent eight years in the Amazon region of South America where, among other things, enjoyed competitive running and organizing racing events for local villages.  She inspires those she meets wherever in the world she finds herself; encouraging a life of discipline, health and integrity. For recreation, Lisa enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and three boys.
